NYPAC is pleased to co-sponsor 80WSE Gallery’s radical reinterpretation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute. The production was mounted as a unique collaboration between interdisciplinary artists Vaginal Davis and Susanne Sachsse, Composer Jamie Stewart (best known for his celebrated band Xiu Xiu), lighting designer Jackie Shemesh, musicologist Roger Grant, filmmaker Michel Auder, and visual artists Jonathan Berger and Jesse Bransford.
All aspects of The Magic Flute’s production process and performance will be utilized as raw material by filmmaker Michel Auder, who will present “A Film in Pieces” as 80WSE Gallery’s Summer exhibition, on view from June 8 - August 13, 2016.
